North Pitt takes Ray Avery title

LITTLEFIELD — As the ball trickled away from first base, Josh Gedrimas darted toward home plate with his right arm raised in the air.

It was an unlikely ending to the Ray Avery Easter Tournament championship game, but one North Pitt baseball coach Ryan Meadows and his team are glad happened.


The Panthers beat South Lenoir 3-2 on Tuesday afternoon despite all of their runs being unearned. The last one came with the game tied in the bottom of the seventh and extra innings lurking.
