BETHEL — Already down two starters, the North Pitt girls’ basketball team will now have to try to make it to the third round of the state playoffs without its head coach.
The third-seeded Panthers easily advanced to the second round of the 2-A playoffs Tuesday night with an 80-52 victory over No. 30 South Granville, and they did it without Neal Carr, who was serving the first game of a two-game suspension.
Pitt County Schools spokesman Brock Letchworth confirmed Tuesday night that Carr was suspended Monday morning. He will miss Thursday night’s second-round matchup against No. 19 Eastern Randolph.
