Easter tourneys get under way

Coach Ronald “R.V.” Vincent doesn’t necessarily want his J.H. Rose baseball team to be known as comeback kids, but the Rampants are building a reputation for being just that.

Rose remained unbeaten this season after erasing two D.H. Conley leads en route to a 5-4 victory over the Vikings in the Pitt County Classic at Guy Smith Stadium on Friday. The Rampants completed a doubleheader sweep by beating North Buncombe 5-3 in the nightcap.


Facing deficits is nothing new for the Rampants this season, and having to come back causes mixed feelings for Vincent.
