CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. — Adam Haseley rapped three hits and scored a pair of runs, and Tommy Doyle stifled East Carolina to two runs in seven-plus innings as No. 4 Virginia salvaged the Sunday baseball finale in a three-game series, 4-2.
The Cavaliers (4-3) staked themselves a 4-0 lead and appeared in control for the first time in the series, but still ECU (6-1) rallied, scoring two late runs and making the Cavs sweat out their only win of the weekend at Davenport Field.
Doyle (1-0) surrendered two runs on seven hits with a pair of strikeouts.
