MEMPHIS, Tenn. — The East Carolina baseball team suffered its first Conference USA loss in three weeks on Saturday, as the Pirates fell at Memphis, 5-2.
The win by the Tigers evened the weekend series. Today’s finale is scheduled for 2 p.m.
ECU’s Tyler Joyner (5-1) suffered his first loss of the season. The left-hander went five-plus innings, allowing four runs on nine hits. Memphis’ Sam Moll was the winning pitcher after giving up two runs on nine hits in 71⁄3 innings.
