East Carolina might have found the battering ram running back its offense has been missing, and that’s fitting given his background.
Powerful rusher Hunter Furr barreled into the end zone a couple of times at ECU’s second scrimmage of spring practice on Saturday afternoon. It was Furr’s debut scrimmage after sitting out last week’s with a concussion.
The transfer from UNC — the school whose ram mascot was chosen in honor of early 1920’s fullback Jack Merrit, nicknamed “The Battering Ram” — is embracing purple over powder blue.
