ECU baseball moves into first place

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — The East Carolina baseball team continued its Conference USA hot streak with a 5-2, series-opening win over Memphis on Friday night.

ECU, which is 7-0-1 in its last eight league games, moved into first place in C-USA with the help of a 1-0 loss by UCF.


No. 8 hitter Jack Reinheimer led East Carolina (24-9-1, 7-2-1 Conference USA) on offense, going 3-for-4 with two RBIs and two runs scored. Jay Cannon (2-for-4) was the other Pirate to collect more than one hit.
