WINTERVILLE — Pitt Community College softball outfielder Dana Branch was named the National Junior College Athletic Association’s Division I Player of the Week on Wednesday.
Branch, a freshman and North Pitt High School product, excelled offensively for the Bulldogs in their four-game sweep of Region X foe USC-Salkehatchie last week. She went 9-for-12 against the Indians, scoring five runs while driving in five more.
In Pitt’s 15-0 victory last Friday, Branch was a single short of the cycle. She finished with two doubles, a triple and a home run.
