Actions often speak louder than words, but sometimes the voice of inaction speaks louder. That is true in the matter of civic engagement now perplexing the Greenville City Council.

The council is wrestling with those questions because it is trying to increase participation in many of its 21 boards and commissions, upon which it relies to work through issues and make policy recommendations.

Not enough seats currently are being filled and, frequently, not enough sitting members show up to legally conduct the boards’ business.

Civic engagement implies

Civic engagement implies attempting to have any kind of effect in the city life of our groups and adding to the blend of learning, abilities, qualities and inspiration to have that effect. do my assignment for me "Metro engagement" can mean an arrangement of activities and endeavors, as well as a sentiment having a place, an ordeal of speculation and possession in the neighborhood, provincial, national, and/or universal groups to which natives have a place.

Problem is they do not listen

Thus people don't show up and do not want to serve. If you want these boards then you need to have our City Council to listen and take in the recommendations. Has not happened thus why they are in this situation.

too many commissions and one needed

consolidate many commissions and establish one- a finance commission
