Suzanne Marie Dunlow of Williamston and Spence Allen Evans of Ayden were united in matrimony Saturday, Sept. 8, 2012 at 4:30 p.m. The double-ring ceremony was held at Piney Grove Baptist Church, Williamston with the Rev. Christopher S. Dawson as officiating minister.
The bride wore her mother’s wedding dress of white silkened organza, Rachele and French Chantilly lace over net and peau de soil. A design of French Chantilly lace-trimmed with Rochele lace encircled the hemline and the scalloped cathedral train.
The bride, escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents, is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Joey Dunlow of Williamston. She is the granddaughter of Mrs. Susie Dowdy and the late Mr. Rankin Dancy Dowdy and Mr. and Mrs. William Hodie Dunlow all of Williamston.
The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Edward Franklin Evans Jr. of Ayden. He is the grandson of Mrs. Carolyn Evans and the late Mr. Edward Franklin Evans Sr. of Winterville and Mrs. Doris Tyson and the late Mr. F. Kermit Tyson of Ayden.
The matron of honor was Brittany Dziedzic Priebe of Raleigh. The maid of honor was Lauren Laughlin Shelton of Raleigh. Bridesmaids were Cassie Elizabeth Harris of Williamston, cousin of bride; Lane Katherine Harris of Williamston, cousin of the bride; Mary Charles Manning of Greenville, cousin of bride; and Brenna Evans Weston of Greenville, sister of the groom. The flower girl was Charlotte Ruth Aldridge of Buies Creek. Honorary bridesmaids were Lauren Nicole Harrison of Williamston and Megan Gabel Perry of Chesapeake, Va.
The ring bearer was William Beecher Aldridge of Buies Creek. Best man was Edward Franklin Evans Jr. of Ayden, father of the groom.
Groomsmen were William Andrew Haddock of Greenville, Worden Tyler Price of Garner, Justin Stuart Stargardt of Greenville, Michael Andrew Tyndall of Roseboro and Kenneth Alan Weston of Greenville, brother-in-law of groom. Ushers were Kenneth Eric Johnson of Tarboro and Chandler Dowdy Manning of Greenville, cousin of bride.
The wedding director was Rebecca Ann Edwards of Williamston and Luann Dowdy Manning of Greenville, aunt of the bride. Program attendants were Allison Leslie Johnson of Williamston and Sarah Shelton Sproat of Wilmington.
Organist was Jeanette White of Williamston. Soloists were Quentin Asby singing When I Say I Do by West and Michael Tyndall singing Better Today by Anderson. Pianist was Mary Lane Baker of Williamston.
The couple arrived to their reception, which was given at the Roanoke Country Club by the bride’s parents, in a horse drawn carriage.
The bride is a graduate of Campbell University with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting and a Masters of Science in Accounting from East Carolina University. She is currently employed at Dixon Hughes Goodman, LLP.
The groom is a graduate of Cambpell University with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Trust and Wealth Management and Masters of Business Administration. He is currently employed at First Citizens Bank.
After a honeymoon cruise to the Eastern Caribbean, the couple will reside in Raleigh.
