Lauren Faye Curtis and Woodrow Jackson Farrington II were united in marriage on April 28, 2012, at 6 p.m. at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Greenville. The Rev. Bob Hudak and Mr. Jason Ellerbee officiated the double-ring ceremony. Wedding music was provided by Mr. Andrew Scanlon, organist, and Mr. Isaac Edwards, soloist.
The bride is the daughter of Charles and Cindy Curtis of Greenville. She is the granddaughter of the late Mr. James Edward Moore and Mrs. Faye Smithey Moore of Burlington, and the late Mr. Reiley Spangler Curtis, and Mrs. JoAnne Duck of Cary. The bride was escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents. She wore her mother’s wedding veil.
The groom is the son of Woodrow and Patty Farrington of Dothan, Ala. He is the grandson of the late Mr. Joseph Coleman Farrington and Mrs. Mary Agnes Farrington of Rock Creek, Ala. and Mr. Barbee Glass and the late Mrs. Margie Nell Glass of Rock Creek, Ala.
Maid of honor was Lindsay Curtis, sister of the bride. The flower girl was Miss Rachel Bensinger of Birmingham, Ala., niece of the groom. Bridesmaids were Ashley Bunting, Brittany Sherman, Michelle Bensinger, Megan Miller, Caroline Mooring, Brittany Adams and Jessica Davis.
Best man was Woodrow Farrington, father of the groom. Groomsmen were Brad Wilson, Wesley Carpenter, Marion Hanahan, Ben Barron, Bill Davis, John Davis and Bill Bensinger.
Following the ceremony the bride’s parents hosted a dinner and dance reception at Rock Springs Jockey Club with music provided by the band Tailgate. A rehearsal dinner was hosted the night before by the parents of the groom in the Hilton Ballroom, catered by Christinne’s Seafood Grille and Chophouse.
A bridal shower was hosted by the bride’s aunt, Karen Moore Tolen, on March 3, 2012, in Greenville, and was attended by friends and family. A poolside barbecue was also given in honor of the bride and groom on March 10, 2012, at the home of Mr. and Mrs. George Carpenter in Dothan, Ala., hosted by friends of the groom’s family. On March 11, 2012, the couple was honored at a shower at Calvary Baptist Church in Dothan, Ala. hosted by many friends. And on March 24, 2012, the bride was feted at a bridal shower and luncheon at Shoal Creek Country Club in Birmingham, Ala. The shower was hosted by the bride’s aunt, Mrs. Jamie Milton and Ms. Lindsey Hicks.
The bride is a 2004 graduate of Arendell Parrott Academy in Kinston and a 2007 graduate of East Carolina University where she was a member of the Alpha Xi Delta sorority. She received her Master’s in Business Administration from East Carolina in 2008. The bride graduated in 2011 from the Cumberland School of Law in Birmingham, Ala. She is currently an associate attorney with the law firm of Estes, Sanders & Williams, LLC in Birmingham, Alabama.
The groom is a 2000 graduate from Northview High School in Dothan, Ala. He is a 2004 Auburn University graduate and will be graduating in May 2012 from the University of Alabama-Birmingham Medical School. Following graduation he will begin his residency in general surgery at the University of Alabama-Birmingham.
After a honeymoon in Acapulco, Mexico, the couple will reside in Birmingham, Ala
