Laura Marshall Harris and William Henry “Hank” Thompson II were united in marriage on Oct. 19, 2013 at 5 p.m. in Southern Pines. The Rev. John Grey Tampa officiated the ceremony. The bride was escorted by her father.
The bride wore the wedding gown also worn by her mother and maternal grandmother.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Reuben Marshall Harris of Rocky Mount. She is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Fletcher Harrison Gregory Jr. and Mrs. John Henry Harris Jr. and the late Mr. Harris.
The groom is the son of Mrs. William Henry Thompson of Chocowinity and the late Mr. Thompson. He is the grandson of Mrs. Boyce Dewitt Shepherd and the late Mr. Shepherd and the late Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Vernon Thompson.
Maid of honor was Mary Boyd Gregory Harris of Nashville, Tenn., sister of the bride. Matron of honor was Josey Harris Kasper of Raleigh, sister of the bride. Bridesmaids were Natalie Thompson Brincefield, of Raleigh, sister of the groom, and Robin Ashley Goldman, of New York, friend of the bride. Flower girls were Ellie Hughes Brincefield, of Raleigh, niece of the groom and Mary Louise Riddick Kasper of Raleigh, niece of the bride.
Best man was Malcolm Gray McLeod, Jr. of Greenville, friend of the groom. Groomsmen were Henry Clifton Ferrell III of Wilmington, Danny Lynn Sink of Gig Harbor, Wash., Douglas Park Williams Jr. of Kernersville, and Robert John Zalzneck, Jr. of Pinehurst, all friends of the groom.
A reception followed at the Weymouth Center of the Arts and Humanities. Rehearsal dinner was held at Fair Barn.
The bride received a BA in Communications Studies from University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and a Master of Public Administration from American University in Washington, DC.
The groom received a BSBA Business Administration from East Carolina University, and is employed by the United States Golf Association.
After a honeymoon to Antigua, the couple will make their home in Pinehurst.
