Courtney Brown Cherry and John Frederick Horns were united in marriage at noon on July 12, 2014 in Wildwood Presbyterian Church, Newport. Dr. Wanda Suddreth Neely officiated the double-ring ceremony. The bride was escorted by her father.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Julius Perkins Cherry, Jr. of Kinston. She is the granddaughter of Mrs. Julius Perkins Cherry of Kinston, the late Mr. Julius Perkins Cherry of Kinston, and the late Mr. and Mrs. William Watson Brown of Greenville
The groom is the son of Dr. Phyllis N. and Mr. Frederick F. Horns, III of Greenville. He is the grandson of Dr. Frank E. Marsh, Jr. of Birmingham, A.L., the late Mr. and Mrs. Hoyt Battle Nichols of Rock Ridge, the late Mr. Frederick F. Horns, II of Clearwater Beach, F.L., and the late Dr. Virginia Horns Marsh of Birmingham, A.L.
Matron of honor was Julia Christian Cherry Earp, sister of the bride. Bridesmaid was Margaret Mary Rogers Cherry, sister-in-law to the bride. Flower girl was Virginia Hastings Anders, goddaughter to the bride.
Best man was Frederick F. Horns, III, father of the groom. Groomsman was Justin Nichols Horns, brother of the groom. Ring bearer was John Perkins Earp, nephew to the bride.
A reception followed at Coral Bay Club, Atlantic Beach. Rehearsal dinner was held at The Boat House at Front Street Village, Beaufort.
The bride received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration from Peace College, and a Master of Business Administration from East Carolina University. The bride was presented by the Terpsichorean Club of Raleigh at the 2004 North Carolina Debutante Ball. She is employed by Earp Dentistry of Greenville.
The groom received a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from East Carolina University, and a Master of Business Administration from East Carolina University. He is employed by the Department of Information Services, Vidant Health.
The groom is surprising the bride with the honeymoon.
The couple will make their home in Greenville.
