Amanda Elizabeth Nichols and Jeremy Mark Stewart were married on Sept. 17, 2011 at 2 p.m. at Trinity Free Will Baptist Church in Greenville. The Rev. Marcos Lykins, of the Dominican Republic, officiated the double-ring ceremony. The bride was escorted by her father.
The bride is the daughter of Debbie Haddock Harper and Benjamine Ernest Nichols; she is the step-daughter of Steven R. Harper. She is the granddaughter of O.C. and Peggy Haddock and Virginia Eastwood Nichols, all of Greenville; she is the step-granddaughter of Dorothy Price Harper of Grifton.
The groom is the son of Bob and Tandy Stewart of Goldsboro. He is the grandson of Bill and Fran Stewart of Raleigh, and Mrs. Florence Goss of State College, Penn.
Meredith Nichols, sister of the bride, was maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Elysa Appel, Paige Baggett, Jenny Calles, Melissa Griffin, Candice O’Quinn, Allison Spivey, and Amber Taylor, all friends of the bride. Quyizaneka Monea Corey and Tyleya Leona Gay, friends of the bride, were flower girls.
Robert B. Stewart Sr., father of the groom, was best man. Groomsmen were Christopher Stewart and Robert B. Stewart Jr., brothers of the groom, and friends Major Carter, Wesley Cole, Ben Johnston, Nathan Taylor, and Ben Wagner. Luke Stewart, nephew of the groom, was ring bearer.
Guest attendants were Mary Keeter and son, Thomas Keeter, both friends of the bride.
A reception followed the ceremony, hosted by the father of the bride at Covenant United Methodist Student Center in Winterville.
A catered rehearsal dinner was hosted by the parents of the groom on Friday, Sept. 16, 2011. An engagement party was hosted by Mrs. Nancy S. Lee of Greenville on May 29, 2011. A wedding shower, hosted by family and friends of the bride, was given on July 30, 2011.
The bride graduated from ECU in 2005 as a Health Fitness Specialist. She is employed by the Salvation Army in Greenville.
The groom graduated from Liberty University, Lynchburg, Va., in 2006, with a degree in Religion. He is employed by the Pate Dawson Company in Goldsboro.
After a honeymoon to Aruba, they will make their home in Winterville.
