Laura Gibbs Collier and Ryan Christopher Willis were united in marriage on Saturday, July 16, 2016, at 6:00 p.m. in the chapel at the Hudson Manor in Louisburg, NC. Reverend William Scott officiated the double-ring ceremony. The bride was escorted by her father. A dinner reception was held following the ceremony at the Hudson Manor.
The bride is the daughter of William Henry and Karen Collier of Greenville, NC. She is the granddaughter of Shirley Gibbs Vignetti and the late Colonel John Lawrence Vignetti of Orlando, FL and the late Mr. and Mrs. William Henry Collier, Jr. of Greenville, NC.
The groom is the son of Ronald Joseph and Mary Kathryn Turner and the late Charles Worth Willis, Jr., all of Wilmington, NC. He is the grandson of Gloria D’Annunzio Alvarez and the late Mr. Manuel Alvarez, Jr. of Bridgeport, WV and the late Mr. and Mrs. Charles Willis, Sr. of Forest City, NC.
Matron of honor was Katherine Collier Lasecki, sister of the bride, from Vinton, VA. Bridesmaids were Claire Watson Curran from Charleston SC, Emily Smith Rogers from Emerald Isle, NC, and Whitney Marie Sauter from Atlanta, GA. Isabella Grace Lasecki, niece of the bride, and Grace Nicole Lynch, niece of the groom, were flower girls. John Collier Lasecki and William Edward Lasecki, nephews of the bride, served as ring bearers. Anthea Clair Rhoades, cousin of the groom, of Morgantown, WV, was the scripture reader.
The groom’s father served as the best man. Groomsmen included David Alvarez II of Bridgeport, WV, Manuel Alvarez IV of Bridgeport, WV, and Kevin Daniel Summers of Naples, FL.
The rehearsal dinner, hosted by the parents of the groom, was held at Vivace and the bridesmaid luncheon, hosted by family and friends, was held at Coquette Brasserie both in Raleigh, NC. A southern style luncheon celebration, hosted by the groom’s parents, was held at The Pit in Raleigh, and an engagement cocktail party was held in Greenville, NC, hosted by friends of the bride’s family at the home of Mr. and Mrs. James Harvey Ward.
The bride graduated from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington with a degree in elementary education and is employed by the State Employees Credit Union as a financial services representative. She was presented by The Terpsichorean Club at the 2005 North Carolina Debutante Ball. The groom graduated from East Carolina University with a degree in construction management. He is employed as a surveyor with Stantec.
After a honeymoon trip to Playa del Carmen, Mexico, the couple will reside in Raleigh, NC.
