A judge announced Thursday that a man sentenced to death for shooting and killing three convenience store workers in 2012 will not be retried or re-sentenced because a a member of the sheriff’s staff talked to a juror during the trial.
Superior Court Judge Robert H. Hobgood announced his decision after listening to evidence and arguements on Monday and Tuesday and studying case law on Wednesday.
Hobgood found that Christy Wallace did talk to a juror but found that she did not influence the jury in their deliberations.
