WINTERVILLE — Pitt County Republicans quizzed the party’s two candidates for state House District 9 on issues ranging from education spending to the protection of Second Amendment rights.
Candidates Jack Wall and Brian Brown laid out their credentials before the nearly 70 Republicans who gathered at The WareHouse Restaurant. Republican candidates for Congress, the Pitt County Board of Commissioners and a local district court judge’s race also spoke.
Wall and Brown are seeking the GOP nomination to run against veteran Democratic legislator Marian McLawhorn in November. They were asked what was needed to improve the state’s education system and if more spending was part of the solution.
