How to Fix Crime
I would like to offer a plausible solution designed to discourage criminals. When suspected criminals are charged and booked, they need to be actively engaged in giving back to the community that they have perpetrated crimes against. Our inmate population should be forced to perform community service along public roads in traditional black and white jail attire. Remember that you are either part of the solution or you are part of the problem. It is a true travesty that criminal activity has media precedence over the accomplishments of law-abiding citizens.
Please explain why these people weren't in jail already
Two of them have convictions for attempted murder (or as NC calls it assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury with intent to kill) and the other one assisted a murderer after the crime. All of them did around 5 years for their crimes. Am I the only one that thinks the penalty for attempted murder should be more than 20 years in prison? Because obviously the 5 years in prison didn't dissuade them from trying the same crime again.
COWARD TRASH
Please correct the news article to read that three COWARDS on Wednesday were charged with attempted murder and armed robbery after an apparent drug deal ended in a gunfight Tuesday near Winterville, officials said. I hope the judicial system will permanently keep this trash off our streets.
