Greenville police entered the blogosphere last month as an alternative way to disseminate information and provide a behind-the-scenes look at the department.
The blog, which has nearly 20 posts, offers an in-depth look at the organization and some of the more interesting but relatively unknown day-to-day operations, according to Sgt. Joe Friday, the department’s public information officer.
Friday said his mission is to provide to citizens information they are entitled to receive, allowing them to understand, form opinions or make decisions.

Blog is fine but says same on crime reports in DR
Blog is good but basically same info we get by reading the news. Why not use the blog to tell the citizens what you are doing to lower crime, and why so many are investigating when they are basically black and white as to what charges should be filed. Not grey area of investigating, or how about crime reports that state closed right after they investigated and basically did nothing to solve?
