I don't get the joke. Why is this funny? Belmont already showed they can compete the other night. The way ECU played against Duke the other night I think they could too. I don't know anything about Central's game but I would think the ACC thought they're worth it as well.

I am. Not all sports, though. I don't like the NBA. Couldn't care less about soccer. Mostly I follow college basketball and football. Well, that and most times the NFL although for the last couple of years I've been getting disgusted with it.

K just checking.........Sorry my joke bombed, lol........Mikey couldn't resist pickin' on the ACC after Belmont dropped the Tar Heels in the Dean Dome and State lost to North Carolina Central University on it's home floor in Raleigh...........The Pirates close loss in Cameron spoke volumes, as well........Parity is bigger than ever........I'm seeing these games with my eyes but I keep feeling like I need need to adjust my screen, lol...... I have little use for the NBA other than keeping tabs on former local hoops stars........Too many fouls, way too ghetto.........I'm happy with the new rules emphasis in the NCAA this year on defensive contact........It would be so nice to return to playing by the rules and stop all the mugging....... Sports trivia question.......no googling, lol........I'll steer clear of football since you were a coach.......How 'bout baseball...... There's five ways you can reach first base without hitting the ball, according to the rules.......What are they?

A walk, a balk, and a steal. Yes you can steal first. Getting hit with the ball. And.....I don't know.

Here's one for you. Who won both the NIT and the NCAA in the same year?

Walk, hit by pitch, strikeout with first open/catcher drops or misses third strike and batter beats throw to first........Those three are common.......Catcher interference, number four, is not as common........if the catcher's mitt is struck by the bat the batter is awarded first and I believe the catcher is charged with an error........Number five, very rarely seen.........If the umpire says play ball, the pitcher is compelled to throw a pitch........In rare cases, usually after an argument over a call, or some disagreement, the pitcher will not pitch......or takes entirely too long between deliveries........If the umpire instructs him to deliver and the pitcher does not, the umpire may signal a ball........If it gets to ball four the batter is awarded first and the pitcher is charged with an error..........This is similar to a batter who refuses to get into the batters box and eventually the umpire will order the pitcher to pitch and you can bet the call will be a strike......
