SCOTUS affirms the unconstitutional nature of DOMA. I am surprised the decision was 5-4. This was a loser for the PUBS...they needed to get rid of it as a social issue in order to have a shot at younger voters. There was very big support for gay marriage from wealthy CONS and corporations. SCOTUS is not a deaf institution, but has a political ear.

California Prop 8 vacated.... Same with NC Constitutional Amendment restricting marriage to opposite sex. Sorry PCP.....told ya this was coming. It was the only decision possible CONsistent with equal protection under the law. Marriage is a state institution.....you petition the STATE for license to marry, or petition the STATE for divorce. As such, the state cannot discriminate between any two individuals of the age of consent. It was the right decision.

Personally I could not care less, I will let God be the judge. Most Republicans I know do not care. But then again CNN and MSNBC have to have something for their uninformed viewers to get pissed about.Cant blame Bush on this one so make it out as if Republicans hate gays. Fact is Republicans support traditional marriage, how dare they be so cruel.

What wrong with disliking someone, I don't like gays, queer, fags, period. they can vote and now wear a ring whoopie, pass a law.. They want acceptance and that will never happen. i'm fair enough to vote for equal tax burden, estate rights of a signed contract. ie "marriage" but stay away from me.

It was the right decision, if you're a supporter of pedaphiles or polygamists. Their time has come. Bigamists unite! Animal lovers can now love their animals! By the way, this ruling does not affect North Carolina, not one little bit. We have tbe strongest constitutional amendment in the nation. This issue is in the hands of the states now and North Carolina is prepared...

It does affect North Carolina. This ruling means a gay couple can get married in another state, and then have all the federal rights in North Carolina. They WILL be married for all practical purposes.

They are not and can never be "married", Spatic. They win nothing in North Carolina. Time for those who practice incest and bestiality to demand their rights since no one can tell them who to "love"!
