I'm just finishing PARENTING BY THE BOOK, by John Rosemond. He has a column in the Sunday DR on parenting. Revolutionary! He says children should be raised like Granny raised her children. Nip it in the bud! No "treasure boxes" or undeserved praise. Chores, duties, responsibilities. No talking back, etc. No namby-pamby. Boys should be raised as boys and girls should be raised like girls...

Seriously, just finished FORD COUNTY (a collection of short stories) by John Gresham and have now embarked on a rather lengthly tome, THE COMMAND OF THE OCEAN-A NAVAL HISTORY OF BRITAIN, 1649-1845, by N.A.M. Rodger.

KJV and trying to revisit some goodies working my way back through some of Lewis' stuff at the moment.

Thanks for the suggestions. Fortunately for me, I don't need to read a book on parenting.

The book is about parenting by THE Book. Wait until those grandchildren start rolling in, Philip. They'll spend more time at papa's house than you think. LOL.
