. . . its a deep thought. As far as mom she does the will, but she wonders why? But point taken on the other and your right, it would be my reasons not hers. I'm pretty blunt, i understand.. old codger..LOL
I'm seriously flirting with my 80th on this anthill. Many of my friends are in their 80's and are full of life. Hell, one doesn't have to be old to no longer have the will to live. I have known folks my whole life who questioned about the reason for living. Hopefully, you baby-boomers will figure all of this out; however, I have my doubts. You all would have been able to understand life more if you had lived part of your life during a depression and a major world-wide bloody war.

. . hehe i love ya louie. I don't know if we can either. I'm trying. Grandama at 101 had no old friends they were dead. I hope to see 80 in good health and sight, and mobility. I am a sinner and ain't giving up scotch and a good cigar to live. (i don't do either). I guess where i am in "deep thought' the thread, why would any Christian be afraid to go to heaven? There are plenty of live bodies hooked up somewhere, because the family wants life, instead of death. heck I'm 58 and have a will. Thats sad

Oh, I have my moments....3 trips to the ER since last fall. But there is still too much in life I want to do...whether my friends are around or not. I gave up a cigar and Canadian blend, not because of any health reasons, but because of my wife, whom I love very much. I don't fear death at all...have lost many good friends over the past year...when it comes...and it will...I'll have no regrets.

I will be the first to tell you that I am ready for heaven and I am not afraid one little bit, but, if God is getting together a carload today, I'd just as soon wait until later, if it's ok with Him. The Bible tells me to look forward to His Second Coming as if it were imminent, not my own death. God prepares His saints for their death. He hasn't fully prepared me yet. Lol.

MIKE? I've been mulling something I need to ask you about your position on drugs in America? Do you support more freedom for the drug culture's habits because you believe if the laws were removed, the desire/push/costs/negatives would lessen or evaporate? As in you believe the law is actually nurturing that natural rebellion which is pushing people into it more and more just because its a "no-no"? Do you believe our laws about drugs are enticing people? Then how do you explain the negative impacts on people doing the same things with legal avenues for such mind alterations? How do you square that with God? Me... I'm just trying to understand the ferocity of the entire sitation from all angles and I won't understand if I don't know all the angles. I usually rely on cause and then all the effects following such issues. I'm interested in both sides' point of view.

God gave us free will.........He also indicated there would consequences for actions........sowing, reaping...........Our founders patterned America after free will.........liberty, it was called..........The idea being that men should live free and not be oppressed by government......... The war on drugs has failed........Billions spent, nothing gained........Meanwhile Sam makes money selling liquor..........which is a drug............Just as alcohol prohibition failed, so will drug prohibition.........People will do what they want to do..........The idea that the only thing stopping people from trying heroine, for example, is the fact that it's illegal, is ludicrous.......... Personally, I advise against drug abuse.........It's dangerous and unhealthy.........The case could be made that it's against God's will, especially if one is prone to struggle with moderation...........But in the US we do not govern by the Bible, we govern by the Constitution........And the Constitution does not allow government to invade the privacy of one's home and dictate what substances a citizen smokes, eats, or ingests.......As with homosexual activity, it is a choice..........Choices must be protected if we are to remain a nation of laws...........We don't have to agree with the choices others make, but we damn well better protect their right to do so........as with free speech..........If we don't, we'll find that one day the choices we make are under Sam's scrutiny and nobody will be there to fight for us..........

Okay. If these things are to change then, don't you think we also need to relax the efforts to also use our government to provide rescue for people and their consequences? This is right about where I think the issue, along with many others has gotten all messed up because as people exercise such liberty... they also want somebody to rescue them constantly from their own personal decisions surrounding all these issues. Right? I mean, it seems to me that the removal of natural consequences is actually what is doing us all in in terms of costs and the degradation of our society. Just as those such as homosexuals demand we rescue them from their consequences of choosing their lifestyle yet they obviously have no taste for its consequences. So they attempt to manipulate the majority to change to make it more comfortable for themselves. Again, you can see this same thing going on with religious beliefs that seek to make that one Wiccan comfortable at a kid's graduation ceremony where every other soul attending is Christian and merely want to say a kind prayer for the sake of those children. Or we see all this trying to destroy free enterprise as that minority that seem not to be able to tend to their own basic needs -- are always now trying to rule by destroying what good people have built for their lives and even share so generously - yet those being "given" to are not respecting it and in their own foul ignorances biting off the very hands that provide a way for even them. Don't you think? Its like the basic core truth is that the same problem is being lived out within each and every issue in America - I don't care what it is - and the same failing outcomes are destroying everybody in the process of going at all these issues the wrong way and it boils down to that fictional rescue that is NOT God's way of even helping people. You know? If we relax laws... then so too is it necessary to replace the person's personal responsibilities with it all back in their own hands. Then, and only then can we reach out... American to American soul to freely and with liberty seek/offer our personal help/assistance those who "fall" and give of our own freewill what we indeed should seek to do for our fellow man. Then, and only then can we remove the corruption of our government and those who would use/abuse it all for power to take what is not belonging to it nor those in need? Right? I think it could work, but only if we return Americans back to taking responsibility for what they do or do not do, and returning all of us back to our most proper power over what does indeed belong to each of us. I think the answer/solution is found in this delicate point. What do you think? I also believe that it sets the higher examples in a stronger fashion and it removes by and large, the method by which Americans are so used to assuming all else will be FORCED to fish them out of trouble and our citizenry of all kinds is taking full advantage like very, very spoiled little children. Essentially setting everyone up to do the higher worst deed to each and every one of us with no power left to fight it. I don't know - I desire solution based in the truth no matter what the issue is. We have to start getting it right, and I know of no other way. Pull the rescue - people fear... but its the rescue (they type of forced rescue via government) actually that's making them and all of this worse not better.
