Thieves stole items from nearly two dozen vehicles during the weekend in residential areas along East 14th Street, Greenville police reported Monday.

The thefts happened Saturday and Sunday in areas of Locksley Woods, Quail Ridge, Tucker Estates and Planter’s Walk, according to a news release from the police department.

In almost every case, thieves targeted unlocked cars and stole electronics, purses, loose change and other items, the news release said.

If you are that secure in Greenville to not lock then

you must not read the crime reports in Greenville. Not saying you deserved it but if unlocked with such valuables out for all to see you are begging them to steal from you. Hope you lock your doors in your residence or we will be reading about home invasions for each of you. You can't change stupid, you know.

why so many unlocked cars

I can't believe that all these people leave their cars unlocked, with valuables in them to boot. That's almost begging to have them stolen. I've been locking my vehicles, and keeping valuables behind solid walls, not in the car, for 30+ years.
