East Carolina was decked out for Military Appreciation Day on Saturday night for an American Athletic Conference showdown against South Florida, and no one does that better than ECU.
A driving rain that often dropped in sheets onto Dowdy-Ficklen Stadium’s playing surface prevented any sort of fly-overs or parachute drops from any of the numerous and storied installations in the region. But the field was adorned in stars and stripes, and ECU coaches were trimmed out in desert-style camouflage.
