Mark Windham’s friends and colleagues say he embodies what it means to be a firefighter, and not too long ago I was able to see that first-hand.
A veteran first responder with Eastern Pines Fire-Rescue-EMS, Windham was at his church, New Destiny Pentecostal Holiness, the night of Jan. 13 when my daughter’s car died nearby. I drove there to give it a jump, and after a bit, Windham pulled around in his truck.
“Let me get some real cables,” he said, then proceeded to plug industrial cords into a socket near his front bumper.
