One morning last week I took my 4-year-old twins, Addison and Brody, to the park to play for an hour or so before I dropped them off at day care.
I sat down on a park bench next to a woman who was watching all of the kids at play. Her attention was drawn to a little boy and girl, who looked to be about Addison and Brody’s age, playing together. I watched as the two of them politely took turns on the playground equipment and softly spoke and giggled to one another as they played.
“Are those your children,” she asked me.
