LEXINGTON, N.C. (AP) — An undisclosed company is eyeing a Davidson County location for an operation that could employ 350 workers within six years.

Davidson County commissioners plan a public hearing Tuesday night to hear from residents about whether they should approve giving the company up to $320,000. County and city incentives packages are customarily matched with state tax breaks or grants.

The company also is shopping other sites as it decides where to put $20 million in plant, machinery and equipment.

The Davidson County commissioners say the jobs would pay the county's average wage or better.

The company also is considering sites in other states. Its name will be announced after it reaches a decision.
