ENFIELD, N.C. (AP) — A woman who left her boyfriend's Enfield house after an argument last week was found dead in a car days later, submerged in a Halifax County pond.
Rocky Mount police say 21-year-old Britinae Rachelle Whitehead was found inside a 1994 Honda in a body of water.
Authorities have not said how she ended up in the water. But Whitehead's family said she had a recent history with seizures and that her doctor recommended she not drive.
Whitehead's boyfriend said the pair argued at his house Tuesday, and she drove away in a friend's car.
Friends and family searched for Whitehead. On Thursday, they found skid marks and a hubcap near a pond minutes from her boyfriend's home.
Authorities pulled the car from the water with Whitehead's body still inside.
