RALEIGH, N.C. (AP) — Lt. Gov. Walter Dalton's campaign for North Carolina governor is ready to air its television ads.

His campaign said Monday a commercial posted on YouTube and his campaign web site will begin running on television Tuesday — three weeks before the Democratic primary and two days before early voting begins.

Campaign spokesman Pearse Edwards said the commercial would run across the state but declined to say exactly where or how often except that it would be seen on multiple channels.

The commercial riffs upon the "Walter Dalton" chant he used in his 2008 lieutenant governor ads. Dalton says he now wants voters to think "great jobs grow from great schools" when they hear his name.

Democratic rival Bill Faison first ran a TV ad several weeks ago.
